about

A back room to the youth centre building in the small Ontario town of St.Thomas held hundreds of students and rock music fans of the city, excited and anxious for the local, and youngest, band on the bill to hit the stage- Far From Freedom. This kind of excitement followed the band around town with every gig they played, through their second year of highschool, when they furiously returned to the studio once again in 2005 for a new EP. This time, instead of a one-day session like the 2004 effort, they went into the studio on numerous occasions to multi-track a more powerful and thickened rock record, which was in hand by the end of a few weeks.

The bands new sound was competing on the level of any other scream-rock band in the country, and fans of Far From Freedom ate it up quickly and began to embrace the new tunes. Hard rock tracks, interesting guitar parts and percussion rhythms, elevated the 15 year-old groups status even further than before. Hand-packaged and independently released once again, the EP sold quickly around town to crowds of eager teenagers. The live shows continued, and the music circulated around the city, when new musical directions were setting in- and just as the band started to create their own new material at home on a Boss BR-1600 recording machine, Far From Freedom as they knew it was coming to an abrupt end in 2006...
