about

In September of 2004, Kaleb Hikele, Jordan Jones, Ryan Kline and Zack Buck, known as "Far From Freedom", were just entering their highschool hallways, bringing along a furious live set of raging rock music and a devoted crowd to follow. Preparation was quick to concrete itself for a recorded work from the band. At 14 years old, the members had already played their first bar gig at London's late rundown club 'The Embassy' and the recording studio was their next stop...

The first Far From Freedom EP mirrors that of the creation of The Fab Four's “Please Please Me”- recorded in one room, with minimal mics and minimal takes, the four musicians played all at once and the EP was recorded live off the floor. In a one day session, the band walked out of The Music Oven in London, Ontario, with a simple rock and roll disc that would sell out to many when they brought it back to their hometown of St. Thomas, Ontario. Each member contributed material, some of the earliest songs written by the budding musicians, and shared in the writing of the bands music. This EP would spread around their small town and the songs would become a sing-along anthem for teenage kids in their highschool. By coming into Grade 9 with such a loud bang, most students at Parkside Collegiate were introduced to the four guys in the band through their music. It was a furious start to their highschool year and the band continued to sweep the city with shows and hand-packaged albums, recording their second and final EP in 2005.
